Love Pops
{Capris & Shoes: Value Village, Sweater: Old Navy, Necklace & Belt: Thrifted}
I had an amazing trip to Value Village this weekend. The funny thing was, I wasn't expecting to find anything, I was actually going just to get myself out the apartment (I've been sick for a week now). Thrifting always makes me feel better, even if I have to drag myself there, and it was definitely worth it this time. I scored several pairs of capri pants, including these cute navy sailor pants I'm wearing today, as well as a cute 60's blouse (to be debuted later in the week).
I'll be showing off all my new crops this week, and there were lots more left on the rack at Value Village. I can't be the only person with freezing legs on the bus at 7am!
On a completely unrelated note, Sam and Max and I made Love Pops on Saturday evening, aren't they sweet!?
No, seriously, they are SO sweet, almost inedible...almost.

Pretty in Pink
{Jeans & shoes: ValueVillage, Shirt: Joe, Scarf: Mintage}
One of my favorite trends for this season is the coloured pant. It always seems to be a popular spring trend, and I can see why: Wearing colour makes people happy (at least, it makes me happy!) I found these pants a Value Village on the weekend, and I have to admit, pink is not my first choice for a pair of pants. I was hoping for red or teal, but there was only pink, and I do love a challenge. I think for $7 I'll get enough wear out of them to make it worth the purchase, and I did turn a few heads on Commercial Drive when I went out in search of coffee. Pairing them with the black and white was an obvious choice, but I'm looking forward to wearing them with another bright colour soon. :)

Spring Remix
{Pink Floral Dress: Spank, Red skirt & Loafers: ValueVillage, Blue floral dress: Vero Moda, B+W skirt: Salvation Army}
In anticipation of spring I've been getting out some of my spring/summer dresses for days just like this. I have a fetish for dresses, so much so that I don't have room in my closet for all of them, so half go into storage in the off season. The bright side of this is that when spring finally appears and I pull out all my lightweight, floral dresses it's like getting a wicked present from myself. This is mostly due to the fact that I never remember what I put into storage in the first place. ....which probably indicates I'm a dress hoarder of some kind....meh.
The down-side the dress is that it's a head-to-toe look, and it can be a challenge to make a dress look different each time you wear it. What I like to do is layer my skirts over my dresses for a completely new outfit. It can play down the all-over floral pattern of a dress, and also make a dress that is too short look more work appropriate.
Above I'm mixing two spring floral dresses with two of my favorite skirts, with a cardigan and some tights I can go to work, or with heels I can go to dinner. Make the most of your closet by finding new ways to wear old favorites.
Happy Mixing!
